Blogging Your Way To Success Part 2

(Continued from Blogging Your Way To Success Part 1)

By now, you have already configured your blog name, description, personal profile, and the page template. As soon as you set up your blogging account with Blogger, you will need to do this next:

Post At Least 20 Articles

=====================

While this may sound like hard work, there is no short cut around it. This, you have to do. It is mandatory. Why?

Before you start whining, let me remind you that you are in business. If you are serious enough about making your money then this should not bother you much. Now, the reason I ask of you to post at least 20 articles is because you need to have a REAL website to be in the game of Internet Business.

In the later part of this series, you will find out why this is important for setting up your AdSense account.

Anyway, post at least 20 articles. I recommend you post 25 or 30 articles to start with. Your articles need not be long. At least 200-500 words would do. Post them all in a day, if possible.

Be sure that your articles are relevant to your topic or niche. For example, if you are authoring a blog on Internet Marketing so let all your articles be related to Internet Marketing.

If 20 articles sound very hectic for you, you can source for other people’s articles from article submission web sites such as www.ezinearticles.com and www.articlecity.com as long as they have reprint rights and you include the authors byline. This can give you a good start but be sure not to keep using other people’s articles too often as this can damage your own reputation in a long run. Very soon, you will need to write your own articles. This is your blog.

Keep A Daily Archive

=====================

If you would browse your Blogger settings, you will want to set your archive to “archive daily”. So now, you have at least 20 articles which mean 20 posts. And since you have set “archive daily”, you have at least 20 pages of REAL content now.

Awesome!

Get A Feedback Form

===================

This is the next important thing to do on the list. You want people give you their feedbacks, comments, suggestions and also constructive criticism. This involves more technical knowledge. If you are not familiar with scripting, I have two great sources where you can get the scripts for free and does not require a lot of technical knowledge.

Set up the forms on your blog for your visitor’s convenience. You want to know what they think of your web site and at the same time, find out what their demands are so you can cater to them accordingly.

In the next part of the series, we will get you an account with AdSense.

Blogging Your Way To Success Part 3

(Continued from Blogging Your Way To Success Part 2)

You have already set up a blog. You have at least 20 pages of content. All of a sudden, you have a real website. You are in the game of Internet Business! The next thing to do is get yourself an account with AdSense.

AdSense

=======

You can get your account at www.google.com/adsense.

AdSense, in general, pays you for every click on its Ads. Isn’t that a good source of income? You bet it is!

Now, this does not mean you can simply click on the ads severable times to be paid (or even ask your friends for that matter) because the ones who are going to suffer are the people who subscribed to AdWords. They are paying for every click to their website through this program (that is where your money comes from). As you can see, this is a very unethical act. The ones who should be clicking on them are your visitors and not you! Can you imagine if you have subscribed to AdWords and people on the Internet do this to you?

Let’s go back to the original topic before I get carried away. Now, not just anyone can get an account with AdSense to start earning money. However, since you have a blog with over 20 pages of content and a focused topic, it would not be long until you will be accepted. There are sources that indicate one needs to have at least 20 pages of content, together with fulfilled criteria such as page design and topic relevance, before being accepted by Google.

We are going to assume that you got your AdSense account by now (which I am sure you will as long as you have been following the series faithfully up until now), so as soon as you have been accepted, log into your account, tinker with your settings, and finally - you copy and paste the AdSense code into your blog template.

Now, you have a source of income! Congratulations!

Submitting Your Links And Feed

============================

Up until now, no one has been to your blog yet. So, start establishing link exchanges at this point. You will want to do this with web sites with page ranks 4 or higher. The best places to start with are:

http://www.blogarama.com/

http://www.bloguniverse.com/

http://www.blogsearchengine.com/

http://www.popdex.com/

http://www.link2blogs.com/

You can also personally visit other people’s blogs and ask for a link exchange. Just be sure that their blog shares the same topic of interest as yours.

We will wrap this whole thing up in the next part of the series.

Blogging Your Way To Success Part 4

(Continued from Blogging Your Way To Success Part 3)

In this last part of the series, we will summarize what we have covered:

1) You have registered for a Blogger account at http://www.blogger.com.

2) You have created at least 20 pages of content and set to “archive daily”.

3) You have registered an account with AdSense.

4) You have created a feedback form at your blog.

5) You have started your link exchange campaigns.

With most of the technical things taken care off, the maintenance of your blog depends heavily on your consistent updates.

Make it a ritual (not just a habit) to post at least once a day at your blog. If you want visitors to keep coming back to your web site, then let your visitors have your word that you will post just as often.

Your posts need not be a timely issue. Rather, you can offer tips and ideas on a specific topic. For instance, if your blog is about football, you do not necessarily have to update your visitors with the latest scores. You can do that on a timely basis. But rather, you can teach your visitors tips and tricks on playing football.

By now, you have one source of revenue. In time, you can either create your own product or source for other people’s products to sell at your web site.

From time to time, you will want to establish link exchanging campaigns to build your page ranks as well as drive in fresh targeted traffic derived from other people’s web sites.

If you need to see an example to model after, you can visit my blog at http://ebizmodelsyoucancopy.blogspot.com/.

There you go - a complete step-by-step guide on creating your own blog! Towards your blogging success!
